Isn't it a pity

Dreams, that's where I have to go to see your beautiful face, anymore
I stare at a picture of you and listen to the radio
Hope, hope there's a conversation where we both admit we had it good but
until then it's alienation, I know, that much is understood
And I realize
If you ask me how I'm doin I would say I'm doin just fine
I would lie and say that you're not on my mind
But I go out and I sit down at a table set for two
and finally I'm forced to face the truth
No matter what I say, I'm not over you
Not over you
Damn, damn damn you do it well
And I thought you were innocent
You took this heart and put it through hell
But still you're magnificent
I'm a boomerang doesn't matter how you throw me
Turn around and I'm back in the game
Even better than the old me
But I'm not even close without you
If you ask me how I'm doin I would say I'm doin just fine
I would lie and say that you're not on my mind
But I go out and I sit down at a table set for two
and finally I'm forced to face the truth.
No matter what I say, I'm not over you
And if I had the chance to renew
You know there isn't a thing I wouldn't do
I could get back on the right track
But only if you'd be convinced
So until then
If you ask me how I'm doin I would say I'm doin just fine
I would lie and say that you're not on my mind
But I go out and I sit down at a table set for two
and finally I'm forced to face the truth
No matter what I say, I'm not over you
Not over you
Not over you
Not over you

It really hurts not being over someone. The song expresses it well.
If that's you, *hugs*
It takes time to get over someone. How long varies. All sorts of factors go into it. It helps if you don't have things that constantly remind you. With reminders, it goes slower, but it still goes, if you let it. And you should let it happen — you don't want to end up sixty years from now still not over him.
It will be gradual, and it will take time, but you will get over him. That doesn't mean you'll forget him, but the pain will slowly transform into a sort of nostalgia and its strength will diminish.
Hang in there and enjoy the good things in your life and look to the future with hope.
Wonderful song with great lyrics.
Sometimes I feel we never really get over someone that was once so special in our lives, it is just that with time it gets easier and the pain becomes less and less. If they were that special to you, they will always be special to you, or at least the memory of what you shared, of how it was, of those days of heaven. Although you never get over them, you do learn to live without them. Good luck.
